| CVE-2024-46710(opens NVD record) | High | 7.8 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/vmwgfx: Prevent unmapping active read buffers The kms paths keep a persistent map active to read and compare the cursor buffer. These maps can race with each other in simple scenario where: a) buffer "a" mapped for update b) buffer "a" mapped for compare c) do the compare d) unmap "a" for compare e) update the cursor f) unmap "a" for update At step "e" the buffer has been unmapped and the read contents is bogus. Prevent unmapping of active read buffers by simply keeping a count of how many paths have currently active maps and unmap only when the count reaches 0. | Sep 13, 2024 |
| CVE-2024-46709(opens NVD record) | High | 7.8 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/vmwgfx: Fix prime with external buffers Make sure that for external buffers mapping goes through the dma_buf interface instead of trying to access pages directly. External buffers might not provide direct access to readable/writable pages so to make sure the bo's created from external dma_bufs can be read dma_buf interface has to be used. Fixes crashes in IGT's kms_prime with vgem. Regular desktop usage won't trigger this due to the fact that virtual machines will not have multiple GPUs but it enables better test coverage in IGT. | Sep 13, 2024 |
| CVE-2024-46705(opens NVD record) | High | 7.8 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/xe: reset mmio mappings with devm Set our various mmio mappings to NULL. This should make it easier to catch something rogue trying to mess with mmio after device removal. For example, we might unmap everything and then start hitting some mmio address which has already been unmamped by us and then remapped by something else, causing all kinds of carnage. | Sep 13, 2024 |

| CVE-2024-46697(opens NVD record) | Critical | 9.8 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: ensure that nfsd4_fattr_args.context is zeroed out If nfsd4_encode_fattr4 ends up doing a "goto out" before we get to checking for the security label, then args.context will be set to uninitialized junk on the stack, which we'll then try to free. Initialize it early. | Sep 13, 2024 |
| CVE-2024-46696(opens NVD record) | Critical | 9.8 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: fix potential UAF in nfsd4_cb_getattr_release Once we drop the delegation reference, the fields embedded in it are no longer safe to access. Do that last. | Sep 13, 2024 |
| CVE-2024-46695(opens NVD record) | Critical | 9.8 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: selinux, smack: don't bypass permissions check in inode_setsecctx hook Marek Gresko reports that the root user on an NFS client is able to change the security labels on files on an NFS filesystem that is exported with root squashing enabled. The end of the kerneldoc comment for __vfs_setxattr_noperm() states: * This function requires the caller to lock the inode's i_mutex before it * is executed. It also assumes that the caller will make the appropriate * permission checks. nfsd_setattr() does do permissions checking via fh_verify() and nfsd_permission(), but those don't do all the same permissions checks that are done by security_inode_setxattr() and its related LSM hooks do. Since nfsd_setattr() is the only consumer of security_inode_setsecctx(), simplest solution appears to be to replace the call to __vfs_setxattr_noperm() with a call to __vfs_setxattr_locked(). This fixes the above issue and has the added benefit of causing nfsd to recall conflicting delegations on a file when a client tries to change its security label. | Sep 13, 2024 |
| CVE-2024-46690(opens NVD record) | Critical | 9.8 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: fix nfsd4_deleg_getattr_conflict in presence of third party lease It is not safe to dereference fl->c.flc_owner without first confirming fl->fl_lmops is the expected manager. nfsd4_deleg_getattr_conflict() tests fl_lmops but largely ignores the result and assumes that flc_owner is an nfs4_delegation anyway. This is wrong. With this patch we restore the "!= &nfsd_lease_mng_ops" case to behave as it did before the change mentioned below. This is the same as the current code, but without any reference to a possible delegation. | Sep 13, 2024 |

The call trace is the regular endio workqueue context, but the free-by-task trace is showing that during btrfs_submit_chunk() we already hit a critical error, and is calling btrfs_bio_end_io() to error out. And the original endio function called bio_put() to free the whole bio. This means a double freeing thus causing use-after-free, e.g.: 1. Enter btrfs_submit_bio() with a read bio The read bio length is 128K, crossing two 64K stripes. 2. The first run of btrfs_submit_chunk() 2.1 Call btrfs_map_block(), which returns 64K 2.2 Call btrfs_split_bio() Now there are two bios, one referring to the first 64K, the other referring to the second 64K. 2.3 The first half is submitted. 3. The second run of btrfs_submit_chunk() 3.1 Call btrfs_map_block(), which by somehow failed Now we call btrfs_bio_end_io() to handle the error 3.2 btrfs_bio_end_io() calls the original endio function Which is end_bbio_data_read(), and it calls bio_put() for the original bio. Now the original bio is freed. 4. The submitted first 64K bio finished Now we call into btrfs_check_read_bio() and tries to advance the bio iter. But since the original bio (thus its iter) is already freed, we trigger the above use-after free. And even if the memory is not poisoned/corrupted, we will later call the original endio function, causing a double freeing. [FIX] Instead of calling btrfs_bio_end_io(), call btrfs_orig_bbio_end_io(), which has the extra check on split bios and do the pr ---truncated--- | Sep 13, 2024 |
| CVE-2024-46683(opens NVD record) | High | 7.8 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/xe: prevent UAF around preempt fence The fence lock is part of the queue, therefore in the current design anything locking the fence should then also hold a ref to the queue to prevent the queue from being freed. However, currently it looks like we signal the fence and then drop the queue ref, but if something is waiting on the fence, the waiter is kicked to wake up at some later point, where upon waking up it first grabs the lock before checking the fence state. But if we have already dropped the queue ref, then the lock might already be freed as part of the queue, leading to uaf. To prevent this, move the fence lock into the fence itself so we don't run into lifetime issues. Alternative might be to have device level lock, or only release the queue in the fence release callback, however that might require pushing to another worker to avoid locking issues. | CVE-2024-46680(opens NVD record) | High | 7.8 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: btnxpuart: Fix random crash seen while removing driver This fixes the random kernel crash seen while removing the driver, when running the load/unload test over multiple iterations. 1) modprobe btnxpuart 2) hciconfig hci0 reset 3) hciconfig (check hci0 interface up with valid BD address) 4) modprobe -r btnxpuart Repeat steps 1 to 4 The ps_wakeup() call in btnxpuart_close() schedules the psdata->work(), which gets scheduled after module is removed, causing a kernel crash. This hidden issue got highlighted after enabling Power Save by default in 4183a7be7700 (Bluetooth: btnxpuart: Enable Power Save feature on startup) The new ps_cleanup() deasserts UART break immediately while closing serdev device, cancels any scheduled ps_work and destroys the ps_lock mutex. | CVE-2024-46678(opens NVD record) | High | 7.8 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bonding: change ipsec_lock from spin lock to mutex In the cited commit, bond->ipsec_lock is added to protect ipsec_list, hence xdo_dev_state_add and xdo_dev_state_delete are called inside this lock. As ipsec_lock is a spin lock and such xfrmdev ops may sleep, "scheduling while atomic" will be triggered when changing bond's active slave. And bond_ipsec_add_sa and bond_ipsec_del_sa are xfrm state xdo_dev_state_add and xdo_dev_state_delete APIs, which are in user context. So ipsec_lock doesn't have to be spin lock, change it to mutex, and thus the above issue can be resolved. | Sep 13, 2024 |
| CVE-2024-46674(opens NVD record) | High | 7.8 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: dwc3: st: fix probed platform device ref count on probe error path The probe function never performs any paltform device allocation, thus error path "undo_platform_dev_alloc" is entirely bogus. It drops the reference count from the platform device being probed. If error path is triggered, this will lead to unbalanced device reference counts and premature release of device resources, thus possible use-after-free when releasing remaining devm-managed resources. | Sep 13, 2024 |
| CVE-2024-46673(opens NVD record) | High | 7.8 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: aacraid: Fix double-free on probe failure aac_probe_one() calls hardware-specific init functions through the aac_driver_ident::init pointer, all of which eventually call down to aac_init_adapter(). If aac_init_adapter() fails after allocating memory for aac_dev::queues, it frees the memory but does not clear that member. After the hardware-specific init function returns an error, aac_probe_one() goes down an error path that frees the memory pointed to by aac_dev::queues, resulting.in a double-free. | Sep 13, 2024 |
| CVE-2024-43180(opens NVD record) | Medium | 4.3 | IBM Concert 1.0 does not set the secure attribute on authorization tokens or session cookies. Attackers may be able to get the cookie values by sending a http:// link to a user or by planting this link in a site the user goes to. The cookie will be sent to the insecure link and the attacker can then obtain the cookie value by snooping the traffic. | Sep 13, 2024 |

| CVE-2024-20430(opens NVD record) | High | 7.3 | A vulnerability in Cisco Meraki Systems Manager (SM) Agent for Windows could allow an authenticated, local attacker to execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges. This vulnerability is due to incorrect handling of directory search paths at runtime. A low-privileged attacker could exploit this vulnerability by placing both malicious configuration files and malicious DLL files on an affected system, which would read and execute the files when Cisco Meraki SM launches on startup. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to execute arbitrary code on the affected system with SYSTEM privileges. | Sep 12, 2024 |
