| CVE-2023-53499(opens NVD record) | High | 7.0 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: virtio_net: Fix error unwinding of XDP initialization When initializing XDP in virtnet_open(), some rq xdp initialization may hit an error causing net device open failed. However, previous rqs have already initialized XDP and enabled NAPI, which is not the expected behavior. Need to roll back the previous rq initialization to avoid leaks in error unwinding of init code. Also extract helper functions of disable and enable queue pairs. Use newly introduced disable helper function in error unwinding and virtnet_close. Use enable helper function in virtnet_open. | Oct 1, 2025 |

| CVE-2023-53494(opens NVD record) | High | 7.8 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: xts - Handle EBUSY correctly As it is xts only handles the special return value of EINPROGRESS, which means that in all other cases it will free data related to the request. However, as the caller of xts may specify MAY_BACKLOG, we also need to expect EBUSY and treat it in the same way. Otherwise backlogged requests will trigger a use-after-free. | Oct 1, 2025 |
| CVE-2023-53493(opens NVD record) | High | 8.4 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: accel/qaic: tighten bounds checking in decode_message() Copy the bounds checking from encode_message() to decode_message(). This patch addresses the following concerns. Ensure that there is enough space for at least one header so that we don't have a negative size later. if (msg_hdr_len < sizeof(*trans_hdr)) Ensure that we have enough space to read the next header from the msg->data. if (msg_len > msg_hdr_len - sizeof(*trans_hdr)) return -EINVAL; Check that the trans_hdr->len is not below the minimum size: if (hdr_len < sizeof(*trans_hdr)) This minimum check ensures that we don't corrupt memory in decode_passthrough() when we do. memcpy(out_trans->data, in_trans->data, len - sizeof(in_trans->hdr)); And finally, use size_add() to prevent an integer overflow: if (size_add(msg_len, hdr_len) > msg_hdr_len) | Oct 1, 2025 |

| CVE-2023-53491(opens NVD record) | High | 7.5 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: start_kernel: Add __no_stack_protector function attribute Back during the discussion of commit a9a3ed1eff36 ("x86: Fix early boot crash on gcc-10, third try") we discussed the need for a function attribute to control the omission of stack protectors on a per-function basis; at the time Clang had support for no_stack_protector but GCC did not. This was fixed in gcc-11. Now that the function attribute is available, let's start using it. Callers of boot_init_stack_canary need to use this function attribute unless they're compiled with -fno-stack-protector, otherwise the canary stored in the stack slot of the caller will differ upon the call to boot_init_stack_canary. This will lead to a call to __stack_chk_fail() then panic. | Oct 1, 2025 |
| CVE-2023-53490(opens NVD record) | High | 7.8 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mptcp: fix disconnect vs accept race Despite commit 0ad529d9fd2b ("mptcp: fix possible divide by zero in recvmsg()"), the mptcp protocol is still prone to a race between disconnect() (or shutdown) and accept. The root cause is that the mentioned commit checks the msk-level flag, but mptcp_stream_accept() does acquire the msk-level lock, as it can rely directly on the first subflow lock. As reported by Christoph than can lead to a race where an msk socket is accepted after that mptcp_subflow_queue_clean() releases the listener socket lock and just before it takes destructive actions leading to the following splat: BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference, address: 0000000000000012 PGD 5a4ca067 P4D 5a4ca067 PUD 37d4c067 PMD 0 Oops: 0000 [#1] PREEMPT SMP CPU: 2 PID: 10955 Comm: syz-executor.5 Not tainted 6.5.0-rc1-gdc7b257ee5dd #37 Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (i440FX + PIIX, 1996), BIOS 1.11.0-2.el7 04/01/2014 RIP: 0010:mptcp_stream_accept+0x1ee/0x2f0 include/net/inet_sock.h:330 Code: 0a 09 00 48 8b 1b 4c 39 e3 74 07 e8 bc 7c 7f fe eb a1 e8 b5 7c 7f fe 4c 8b 6c 24 08 eb 05 e8 a9 7c 7f fe 49 8b 85 d8 09 00 00 <0f> b6 40 12 88 44 24 07 0f b6 6c 24 07 bf 07 00 00 00 89 ee e8 89 RSP: 0018:ffffc90000d07dc0 EFLAGS: 00010293 RAX: 0000000000000000 RBX: ffff888037e8d020 RCX: ffff88803b093300 RDX: 0000000000000000 RSI: ffffffff833822c5 RDI: ffffffff8333896a RBP: 0000607f82031520 R08: ffff88803b093300 R09: 0000000000000000 R10: 0000000000000000 R11: 0000000000003e83 R12: ffff888037e8d020 R13: ffff888037e8c680 R14: ffff888009af7900 R15: ffff888009af6880 FS: 00007fc26d708640(0000) GS:ffff88807dd00000(0000) knlGS:0000000000000000 CS: 0010 DS: 0000 ES: 0000 CR0: 0000000080050033 CR2: 0000000000000012 CR3: 0000000066bc5001 CR4: 0000000000370ee0 DR0: 0000000000000000 DR1: 0000000000000000 DR2: 0000000000000000 DR3: 0000000000000000 DR6: 00000000fffe0ff0 DR7: 0000000000000400 Call Trace: <TASK> do_accept+0x1ae/0x260 net/socket.c:1872 __sys_accept4+0x9b/0x110 net/socket.c:1913 __do_sys_accept4 net/socket.c:1954 [inline] __se_sys_accept4 net/socket.c:1951 [inline] __x64_sys_accept4+0x20/0x30 net/socket.c:1951 do_syscall_x64 arch/x86/entry/common.c:50 [inline] do_syscall_64+0x47/0xa0 arch/x86/entry/common.c:80 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x6e/0xd8 Address the issue by temporary removing the pending request socket from the accept queue, so that racing accept() can't touch them. To rectify this, the patch introduces a safeguard within the dbAllocDmapLev() function. A check has been added to verify if leafidx is negative. If it is, the function immediately returns an I/O error, preventing any further execution that could potentially cause harm. Tested via syzbot. | Oct 1, 2025 |
| CVE-2023-53484(opens NVD record) | High | 7.8 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: lib: cpu_rmap: Avoid use after free on rmap->obj array entries When calling irq_set_affinity_notifier() with NULL at the notify argument, it will cause freeing of the glue pointer in the corresponding array entry but will leave the pointer in the array. A subsequent call to free_irq_cpu_rmap() will try to free this entry again leading to possible use after free. Fix that by setting NULL to the array entry and checking that we have non-zero at the array entry when iterating over the array in free_irq_cpu_rmap(). The current code does not suffer from this since there are no cases where irq_set_affinity_notifier(irq, NULL) (note the NULL passed for the notify arg) is called, followed by a call to free_irq_cpu_rmap() so we don't hit and issue. Subsequent patches in this series excersize this flow, hence the required fix. | Oct 1, 2025 |

| CVE-2023-53474(opens NVD record) | High | 7.8 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: x86/MCE/AMD: Use an u64 for bank_map Thee maximum number of MCA banks is 64 (MAX_NR_BANKS), see a0bc32b3cacf ("x86/mce: Increase maximum number of banks to 64"). However, the bank_map which contains a bitfield of which banks to initialize is of type unsigned int and that overflows when those bit numbers are >= 32, leading to UBSAN complaining correctly: UBSAN: shift-out-of-bounds in arch/x86/kernel/cpu/mce/amd.c:1365:38 shift exponent 32 is too large for 32-bit type 'int' Change the bank_map to a u64 and use the proper BIT_ULL() macro when modifying bits in there. | CVE-2023-53463(opens NVD record) | High | 7.5 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ibmvnic: Do not reset dql stats on NON_FATAL err All ibmvnic resets, make a call to netdev_tx_reset_queue() when re-opening the device. netdev_tx_reset_queue() resets the num_queued and num_completed byte counters. These stats are used in Byte Queue Limit (BQL) algorithms. The difference between these two stats tracks the number of bytes currently sitting on the physical NIC. ibmvnic increases the number of queued bytes though calls to netdev_tx_sent_queue() in the drivers xmit function. When, VIOS reports that it is done transmitting bytes, the ibmvnic device increases the number of completed bytes through calls to netdev_tx_completed_queue(). It is important to note that the driver batches its transmit calls and num_queued is increased every time that an skb is added to the next batch, not necessarily when the batch is sent to VIOS for transmission. Unlike other reset types, a NON FATAL reset will not flush the sub crq tx buffers. Therefore, it is possible for the batched skb array to be partially full. So if there is call to netdev_tx_reset_queue() when re-opening the device, the value of num_queued (0) would not account for the skb's that are currently batched. Eventually, when the batch is sent to VIOS, the call to netdev_tx_completed_queue() would increase num_completed to a value greater than the num_queued. This causes a BUG_ON crash: ibmvnic 30000002: Firmware reports error, cause: adapter problem. | CVE-2023-53454(opens NVD record) | High | 8.8 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: multitouch: Correct devm device reference for hidinput input_dev name Reference the HID device rather than the input device for the devm allocation of the input_dev name. Referencing the input_dev would lead to a use-after-free when the input_dev was unregistered and subsequently fires a uevent that depends on the name. At the point of firing the uevent, the name would be freed by devres management. Use devm_kasprintf to simplify the logic for allocating memory and formatting the input_dev name string. | Oct 1, 2025 |
| CVE-2022-50459(opens NVD record) | High | 7.8 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: iscsi: iscsi_tcp: Fix null-ptr-deref while calling getpeername() Fix a NULL pointer crash that occurs when we are freeing the socket at the same time we access it via sysfs. The problem is that: 1. iscsi_sw_tcp_conn_get_param() and iscsi_sw_tcp_host_get_param() take the frwd_lock and do sock_hold() then drop the frwd_lock. sock_hold() does a get on the "struct sock". 2. iscsi_sw_tcp_release_conn() does sockfd_put() which does the last put on the "struct socket" and that does __sock_release() which sets the sock->ops to NULL. 3. iscsi_sw_tcp_conn_get_param() and iscsi_sw_tcp_host_get_param() then call kernel_getpeername() which accesses the NULL sock->ops. Above we do a get on the "struct sock", but we needed a get on the "struct socket". Originally, we just held the frwd_lock the entire time but in commit bcf3a2953d36 ("scsi: iscsi: iscsi_tcp: Avoid holding spinlock while calling getpeername()") we switched to refcount based because the network layer changed and started taking a mutex in that path, so we could no longer hold the frwd_lock. Instead of trying to maintain multiple refcounts, this just has us use a mutex for accessing the socket in the interface code paths. | Oct 1, 2025 |
| CVE-2022-50454(opens NVD record) | High | 7.8 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/nouveau: fix a use-after-free in nouveau_gem_prime_import_sg_table() nouveau_bo_init() is backed by ttm_bo_init() and ferries its return code back to the caller. On failures, ttm will call nouveau_bo_del_ttm() and free the memory. Thus, when nouveau_bo_init() returns an error, the gem object has already been released. Then the call to nouveau_bo_ref() will use the freed "nvbo->bo" and lead to a use-after-free bug. We should delete the call to nouveau_bo_ref() to avoid the use-after-free. | Oct 1, 2025 |

| CVE-2025-39928(opens NVD record) | High | 7.1 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: i2c: rtl9300: ensure data length is within supported range Add an explicit check for the xfer length to 'rtl9300_i2c_config_xfer' to ensure the data length isn't within the supported range. In particular a data length of 0 is not supported by the hardware and causes unintended or destructive behaviour. This limitation becomes obvious when looking at the register documentation [1]. 4 bits are reserved for DATA_WIDTH and the value of these 4 bits is used as N + 1, allowing a data length range of 1 <= len <= 16. Affected by this is the SMBus Quick Operation which works with a data length of 0. Passing 0 as the length causes an underflow of the value due to: (len - 1) & 0xf and effectively specifying a transfer length of 16 via the registers. This causes a 16-byte write operation instead of a Quick Write. For example, on SFP modules without write-protected EEPROM this soft-bricks them by overwriting some initial bytes. For completeness, also add a quirk for the zero length. [1] https://svanheule.net/realtek/longan/register/i2c_mst1_ctrl2 | Oct 1, 2025 |
| CVE-2025-39927(opens NVD record) | High | 7.8 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ceph: fix race condition validating r_parent before applying state Add validation to ensure the cached parent directory inode matches the directory info in MDS replies. This prevents client-side race conditions where concurrent operations (e.g. rename) cause r_parent to become stale between request initiation and reply processing, which could lead to applying state changes to incorrect directory inodes. [ idryomov: folded a kerneldoc fixup and a follow-up fix from Alex to move CEPH_CAP_PIN reference when r_parent is updated: When the parent directory lock is not held, req->r_parent can become stale and is updated to point to the correct inode. However, the associated CEPH_CAP_PIN reference was not being adjusted. The CEPH_CAP_PIN is a reference on an inode that is tracked for accounting purposes. Moving this pin is important to keep the accounting balanced. When the pin was not moved from the old parent to the new one, it created two problems: The reference on the old, stale parent was never released, causing a reference leak. A reference for the new parent was never acquired, creating the risk of a reference underflow later in ceph_mdsc_release_request(). This patch corrects the logic by releasing the pin from the old parent and acquiring it for the new parent when r_parent is switched. This ensures reference accounting stays balanced. ] | Oct 1, 2025 |

| CVE-2025-39902(opens NVD record) | High | 7.1 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/slub: avoid accessing metadata when pointer is invalid in object_err() object_err() reports details of an object for further debugging, such as the freelist pointer, redzone, etc. However, if the pointer is invalid, attempting to access object metadata can lead to a crash since it does not point to a valid object. One known path to the crash is when alloc_consistency_checks() determines the pointer to the allocated object is invalid because of a freelist corruption, and calls object_err() to report it. The debug code should report and handle the corruption gracefully and not crash in the process. In case the pointer is NULL or check_valid_pointer() returns false for the pointer, only print the pointer value and skip accessing metadata. | Oct 1, 2025 |
| CVE-2025-39901(opens NVD record) | High | 7.1 | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: i40e: remove read access to debugfs files The 'command' and 'netdev_ops' debugfs files are a legacy debugging interface supported by the i40e driver since its early days by commit 02e9c290814c ("i40e: debugfs interface"). Both of these debugfs files provide a read handler which is mostly useless, and which is implemented with questionable logic. They both use a static 256 byte buffer which is initialized to the empty string. In the case of the 'command' file this buffer is literally never used and simply wastes space. In the case of the 'netdev_ops' file, the last command written is saved here. On read, the files contents are presented as the name of the device followed by a colon and then the contents of their respective static buffer. For 'command' this will always be "<device>: ". For 'netdev_ops', this will be "<device>: <last command written>". But note the buffer is shared between all devices operated by this module. At best, it is mostly meaningless information, and at worse it could be accessed simultaneously as there doesn't appear to be any locking mechanism. We have also recently received multiple reports for both read functions about their use of snprintf and potential overflow that could result in reading arbitrary kernel memory. For the 'command' file, this is definitely impossible, since the static buffer is always zero and never written to. For the 'netdev_ops' file, it does appear to be possible, if the user carefully crafts the command input, it will be copied into the buffer, which could be large enough to cause snprintf to truncate, which then causes the copy_to_user to read beyond the length of the buffer allocated by kzalloc. A minimal fix would be to replace snprintf() with scnprintf() which would cap the return to the number of bytes written, preventing an overflow. A more involved fix would be to drop the mostly useless static buffers, saving 512 bytes and modifying the read functions to stop needing those as input. Instead, lets just completely drop the read access to these files. These are debug interfaces exposed as part of debugfs, and I don't believe that dropping read access will break any script, as the provided output is pretty useless. You can find the netdev name through other more standard interfaces, and the 'netdev_ops' interface can easily result in garbage if you issue simultaneous writes to multiple devices at once. In order to properly remove the i40e_dbg_netdev_ops_buf, we need to refactor its write function to avoid using the static buffer. Instead, use the same logic as the i40e_dbg_command_write, with an allocated buffer. Update the code to use this instead of the static buffer, and ensure we free the buffer on exit. This fixes simultaneous writes to 'netdev_ops' on multiple devices, and allows us to remove the now unused static buffer along with removing the read access. | Oct 1, 2025 |

| CVE-2025-9232(opens NVD record) | Medium | 5.9 | Issue summary: An application using the OpenSSL HTTP client API functions may trigger an out-of-bounds read if the 'no_proxy' environment variable is set and the host portion of the authority component of the HTTP URL is an IPv6 address. Impact summary: An out-of-bounds read can trigger a crash which leads to Denial of Service for an application. The OpenSSL HTTP client API functions can be used directly by applications but they are also used by the OCSP client functions and CMP (Certificate Management Protocol) client implementation in OpenSSL. However the URLs used by these implementations are unlikely to be controlled by an attacker. In this vulnerable code the out of bounds read can only trigger a crash. Furthermore the vulnerability requires an attacker-controlled URL to be passed from an application to the OpenSSL function and the user has to have a 'no_proxy' environment variable set. For the aforementioned reasons the issue was assessed as Low severity. The vulnerable code was introduced in the following patch releases: 3.0.16, 3.1.8, 3.2.4, 3.3.3, 3.4.0 and 3.5.0. The FIPS modules in 3.5, 3.4, 3.3, 3.2, 3.1 and 3.0 are not affected by this issue, as the HTTP client implementation is outside the OpenSSL FIPS module boundary. | Sep 30, 2025 |
| CVE-2025-9231(opens NVD record) | Medium | 6.5 | Issue summary: A timing side-channel which could potentially allow remote recovery of the private key exists in the SM2 algorithm implementation on 64 bit ARM platforms. Impact summary: A timing side-channel in SM2 signature computations on 64 bit ARM platforms could allow recovering the private key by an attacker.. While remote key recovery over a network was not attempted by the reporter, timing measurements revealed a timing signal which may allow such an attack. OpenSSL does not directly support certificates with SM2 keys in TLS, and so this CVE is not relevant in most TLS contexts. However, given that it is possible to add support for such certificates via a custom provider, coupled with the fact that in such a custom provider context the private key may be recoverable via remote timing measurements, we consider this to be a Moderate severity issue. The FIPS modules in 3.5, 3.4, 3.3, 3.2, 3.1 and 3.0 are not affected by this issue, as SM2 is not an approved algorithm. | Sep 30, 2025 |
| CVE-2025-9230(opens NVD record) | High | 7.5 | Issue summary: An application trying to decrypt CMS messages encrypted using password based encryption can trigger an out-of-bounds read and write. Impact summary: This out-of-bounds read may trigger a crash which leads to Denial of Service for an application. The out-of-bounds write can cause a memory corruption which can have various consequences including a Denial of Service or Execution of attacker-supplied code. Although the consequences of a successful exploit of this vulnerability could be severe, the probability that the attacker would be able to perform it is low. Besides, password based (PWRI) encryption support in CMS messages is very rarely used. For that reason the issue was assessed as Moderate severity according to our Security Policy. The FIPS modules in 3.5, 3.4, 3.3, 3.2, 3.1 and 3.0 are not affected by this issue, as the CMS implementation is outside the OpenSSL FIPS module boundary. | Sep 30, 2025 |

| CVE-2025-34235(opens NVD record) | High | 7.8 | Vasion Print (formerly PrinterLogic) Virtual Appliance Host prior to version 25.1.102 and Application prior to version 25.1.1413 (Windows client deployments) contain a registry key that can be enabled by administrators, causing the client to skip SSL/TLS certificate validation. An attacker who can intercept HTTPS traffic can then inject malicious driver DLLs, resulting in remote code execution with SYSTEM privileges; a local attacker can achieve local privilege escalation via a junction‑point DLL injection. This vulnerability has been confirmed to be remediated, but it is unclear as to when the patch was introduced. | Sep 29, 2025 |
| CVE-2025-36099(opens NVD record) | Medium | 4.9 | IBM WebSphere Application Server 8.5 and 9.0 is vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by sending a specially-crafted request. A privileged user could exploit this vulnerability to cause the server to consume memory resources. | Sep 29, 2025 |
| CVE-2025-34196(opens NVD record) | Critical | 9.8 | Vasion Print (formerly PrinterLogic) Virtual Appliance Host versions prior to 25.1.102 and Application prior to 25.1.1413 (Windows client deployments) contain a hardcoded private key for the PrinterLogic Certificate Authority (CA) and a hardcoded password in product configuration files. The Windows client ships the CA certificate and its associated private key (and other sensitive settings such as a configured password) directly in shipped configuration files (for example clientsettings.dat and defaults.ini). An attacker who obtains these files can impersonate the CA, sign arbitrary certificates trusted by the Windows client, intercept or decrypt TLS-protected communications, and otherwise perform man-in-the-middle or impersonation attacks against the product's network communications. This vulnerability has been identified by the vendor as: V-2022-001 — Configuration File Contains CA & Private Key. | Sep 29, 2025 |
| CVE-2025-57197(opens NVD record) | Medium | 6.0 | In the Payeer Android application 2.5.0, an improper access control vulnerability exists in the authentication flow for the PIN change feature.
